Robert Stamp is a Chartered Engineer and industry-recognised expert in pipelines and welding engineering, bringing over 35 years of experience to his new role as Head of Infrastructure & Welding Engineering at Clee Pipelines Construction Contracting LLC in the UAE.  He now leads technical delivery on major water and gas infrastructure projects across the region, with a focus on engineering assurance, safety compliance, and specialist inspection services.

With a BSc (Hons) in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and professional registration through the Engineering Council (CEng), Robert has built a distinguished career across the UK energy sector.  His previous consultancy role as Partner at R&L Project Services LLP saw him supporting clients such as National Grid, Cadent, and Costain with end-to-end engineering services - from authoring and approving NRO/RO procedures to acting as AE/CP under SCO protocols, and delivering advanced NDT, welding and phased array inspections.

His technical qualifications are extensive, including Level 2 Confined Space Entry, Deep Excavation, Cathodic Protection, and PAUT requalification.  He is BGAS CSWIP SPI Grade 1 certified and holds the NEBOSH Level 3 National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.  His ongoing professional development is backed by regular refresher training across SCO, SHEA, asbestos awareness, abrasive wheels, and other safety-critical domains.

Robert’s earlier roles at British Gas, National Grid and East Thames Utilities included senior leadership and engineering posts, spanning welding inspection, pipeline operations, CDM coordination and workforce management.  His broad technical foundation and reputation for quality, safety and regulatory excellence make him an invaluable asset to Clee Pipelines Construction Contracting LLC’s growing Middle East operations.
