Nick Van-Ackeren is a seasoned Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) leader with over a decade of proven experience driving compliance, safety culture and operational excellence across multi-utility and infrastructure projects.  As Head of Safety at Clee Pipelines Construction Contracting LLC, Nick is responsible for leading all aspects of HSQE strategy, regulatory compliance and accreditation across the company’s operations in the UAE, supporting large-scale gas, water and energy projects.

Throughout his career, Nick has held senior roles within high-performing utility and civils organisations, overseeing ISO-compliant systems, large-scale audits, and regulatory accreditations. He has successfully led 7 consecutive UKAS-accredited ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 audits, achieving full compliance, and secured and maintained LRQA GIRS, WIRS, and NERS accreditations, unlocking over £40 million in project value across the UK.

Before joining Clee Pipelines Construction Contracting LLC, Nick served as Head of Operations and Compliance at TGL Group Ltd, where he established a new multi-utility division and drove commercial and safety performance through strategic leadership. Prior to this, he played a key role at 360 Group of Companies as Head of Multi-Utilities, Project Compliance and R&D, managing national contracts worth up to £60 million, improving compliance KPIs by 20%, and embedding robust CDM 2015 and environmental practices.

His global experience also includes specialist HSQE consultancy roles across the North Sea, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the Gulf of Mexico, where he significantly reduced incidents and implemented industry-leading DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention) management systems across 26 land rigs for Schlumberger working for Saudi Aramco.
